PROFILES
Michael Kennedy McIntyre, Esq.
Mr. McIntyre graduated in 1975 from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, with a
Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of
North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 1979. Mr. McIntyre worked as an Assistant Federal Defender
with the Federal Defender Program, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia from 1980 to 1984. Since 1985,
Mr. McIntyre has been in private practice. Mr. McIntyre is a member of the State Bar of
Georgia. He practices exclusively in the field of postconviction representation.
Palmer Singleton, Esq.
Mr. Singleton graduated in 1981 from New York University College of Law. He was then a
Prettyman Fellow at the Georgetown University Law Center. Mr. Singleton served as a staff
attorney at the Southern Center for Human Rights in Atlanta for twenty-two years,
representing capital defendants at trial and during postconviction proceedings. In addition
to his work with the Southern Center for Human Rights, Mr. Singleton has taught courses
on criminal procedure and capital punishment at Georgia State University’s College of
Law and at Emory University’s School of Law. Mr. Singleton is a member of the State Bar
of Georgia and Washington D.C. He practices exclusively in the field of postconviction
representation. Mr. Singleton joined the firm in 2006.
H. Victoria Smith, Esq.
Ms. Smith graduated cum laude in 1994 from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro,
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She received her Master of Arts in General
Experimental Psychology from Wake Forest University in 1996 and her Juris Doctor from
the University of Tennessee in 1999. Ms. Smith is a member of the South Carolina Bar and
the State Bar of Georgia. Ms. Smith has been an associate with Michael Kennedy McIntyre
& Associates since 1999. She practices exclusively in the field of postconviction
representation.
Robert McGlasson, Esq.
Mr. McGlasson received his Juris Doctor from the Yale School of Law in 1981. He became
a law clerk to the Honorable Elbert P. Tuttle, Circuit Judge of the United States Court
Of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Mr. McGlasson worked as a staff attorney at the South
Prisoners’ Defense Committee and later founded the Texas Resource Center in Austin,
which was the first and only death penalty appeals litigation office in Texas. Mr.
McGlasson has served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Texas Law
School and as a staff attorney with the Federal Defender Program, Inc. Mr. McGlasson
is a member of the State Bar of Georgia. He practices exclusively in the field of
postconviction representation. Mr. McGlasson has been working with the firm since 2006.
Susan C. Casey, Esq.
Ms. Casey graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1995. She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Psychology from Emory University (1984), and a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (1991). Before attending law school, Ms. Casey worked in the Human Rights Program at The Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia. She was a staff attorney with the Federal Defender Program, Inc., in Chicago, Illinois from 1995 to 2000, and a staff attorney in the capital habeas unit of the Federal Defender Program, Inc., in Atlanta from 2000 to 2007. Ms. Casey is a member of the bar in Georgia and Illinois. She practices exclusively in the field of postconviction representation. Ms. Casey joined the firm in 2007.
Jessica Ambrose, Esq.
Ms. Ambrose graduated cum laude in 2005 from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History. She received her Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2008. Ms. Ambrose is a member of the State Bar of Georgia. She has been working with Michael Kennedy McIntyre & Associates since 2007. She practices exclusively in the field of postconviction representation.
Mike Fleming
Mr. Fleming graduated from West Georgia College (now the University of West Georgia)
in 1972 with a B.A. degree in English and did graduate work at Georgia State University
in Counseling and Psychological services. He began his career in 1972 as a Probation/Parole
Officer with the Georgia Department of Offender Rehabilitation and over the next
thirty-three years held the positions of Hearing Examiner, Senior Hearing Examiner
and Director of Clemency and Parole Selection with the State Board of Pardons and
Paroles from which he retired in June of 2005. In December 2005 he joined the firm
as a Parole Specialist.
Milton “Buddy” Nix
Mr. Nix graduated from the University of Georgia and served six years as a Special Agent of the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI). In 1970, he began his career with the FBI, serving twenty-three years as a Special Agent and Supervisory Special Agent. Mr. Nix was appointed Director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in 1993, a position which he held for nine years. In June 2002, Mr. Nix was appointed to the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles, where he was immediately elected Chairman. Mr. Nix served as Chairman until 2006 and remained on the Parole Board as a Board Member until December 31, 2009. In February 2010, Mr. Nix joined the firm as a Postconviction Consultant.
Erica Sessions
Ms. Sessions graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Business
Administration degree in Marketing. She has been working with Michael Kennedy McIntyre
& Associates since 2001. Ms. Sessions currently serves as the firm's office manager
and is in charge of procuring all records in client's cases including those obtained
pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Act. She is also in charge of all accounts payable
and receivable.
